CVOA Membership Join & Renewals
This page can be used to help you understand how the Join and Renewal Process works. This documentation page has been divided into three categories. Click The Appropriate Link To Skip Ahead. Note: These pages ONLY work on a PC running a screen size 1280x1024 or larger. Also, they will not run correctly on a Phone or iPAD....some android tablets "might" work but it is officially not supported by our hosting provider.
Joining the CVOA
When a user visits the site they are permitted to view the public areas of the site only. If they click on any link that is "members only" they are directed to the Login Page
A new member will NOT have an email address in the CVOA Login Sub-system nor the CVOA Membership database. Therefore they must click on the link in the red box above to "Sign Up".
There are also other ways to Sign Up, specifically, Clicking on the "Log In" button at the top of the page, the link "Join The CVOA" in the website page header, the "Join the CVOA" link located at the very bottom of the page in the website page Footer, and finally in the page "The CVOA" where there is also a link to Join the CVOA. Clicking any of these links takes you to the Login/SignUp page.
Any of these links direct you to CVOA online Membership, which is a series of pages that guides you thru the process.

Note: If you are an existing CVOA member and have already obtained your "email/password" style login credentials you can proceed to Login. Otherwise enter your email address and click the Sign Up button to sign up for new site.

Your new membership information is held in temporary storage, and you are then automatically routed to the Payment Process. If PayPal is selected, it sends you to PayPal, collects the Payment (as selected in Membership Duration), and then returns either a "Success" or "Failure". If the returned value is "Success" the new Member record is stored into the CVOA-Membership database with the Expiration Date automaticslly calculated and membership Status is set to "ACTIVE". Then, a set of login credentials (email/password_ is created for you.
If the payment method is Check or Money Order it stores the new member record with an Expiration Date and membership status is set to "PENDING". You also get a set of login credentials created automatcially which are good for 30 days pending receipt of your payment.
The website then sends email notifications to:
1. the Website Administrator (me)
2. the CVOA President
3. the VP Membership/Finance
4. the associated Regional Director based upon the members location
5. the Merchandise Director
6. the CVOA Registrar
The Wix Login subsystem (our website hosting service) then sends you a notification that your Site Member Request has been approved and you can now login to the site using the email address and the password you chose during the Join CVOA process. The passwords are NOT stored in the CVOA members database, therfore, if you forget it, just click on Reset Pasword on the Login Screen and it will send you an email to reset it.
Membership Renewal
Each time a member enters the site it checks their expiration date. When you are 30 days within expiration, you will start getting a reminder window bar at the bottom of the page with two buttons, Hide Warning and Renew Now. You can hide the reminder and continue full access of the site but anytime you access any "members only" page, the reminder will popup again.
Clicking on Renew Now opens the Renew Set of Pages...

If PayPal is selected, it sends you to PayPal, collects the Payment (as selected in Membership Duration), and then returns either a "Success" or "Failure". If the returned value is "Success" your membership r record is updated in the CVOA-Membership database with the Expiration Date automatically calculated and membership Status is set to "ACTIVE".

4. the associated Regional Director based upon the members location
5. the Merchandise Director
6. the CVOA Registrar
You can now continue using the website and the popup reminders will cease.

If you run into this STOP and contact either the CVOA Webmaster or the CVOA President by email, OR click on "Member Chat" at lower left of the webpage to have it changed to match your new one. Also, In this example, it shows that the account is ACTIVE. Clicking on YES will ask you to SET a password.
